Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 September 2026

This policy explains how AVI Apps Labs, operating as AviLab (“AviLab”, “we”, “us”), handles information for this website and for AviLab software. We are an independent studio based in Ontario, Canada. Contact: avi.apps.labs@gmail.com.

It is written from the products as they actually work: Car Wallet, Sea Battle, and SUPKA on the App Store, and TANK '84 as it exists in development. We do not sell personal information. We do not run ads in AviLab apps.

If an app has its own in-app privacy page, that page and Apple’s privacy nutrition labels for the listing are the most specific description for that product. This studio page covers the same practices in one place.

1. Who we are

AviLab is the public name of the studio. Apps are published under the Apple Developer account used for AVI Apps Labs. We do not operate a separate corporate office address on this site. For privacy questions, email is the contact method.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers:

  • this website (avi-ca.github.io/avilab);
  • Car Wallet for iPhone and iPad;
  • Sea Battle (Sea Battle: Local Wireless) for iPhone and iPad;
  • TANK '84 for iPhone (landscape), including features that exist in the current development build even though the app is not yet on the App Store;
  • SUPKA for iPhone (with Apple Watch support planned in an upcoming build), including features of the released version;

It does not cover Apple’s own products (App Store, Game Center, iCloud, Health, Maps, Weather) except to say when an AviLab app uses them. Those services are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

3. This website

This site is static. It is hosted on GitHub Pages. It does not require an account. The published files do not include advertising, comments, or a client-side analytics, tracking, or heatmap script.

Like most hosted sites, the host may keep server logs (for example IP address, browser, and the page requested) for security and operations. That logging is controlled by GitHub, not by a tracker we added. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Pages may set no cookies of our own. Language is chosen by the URL you open (English or Ukrainian).

4. Email and support

If you write to avi.apps.labs@gmail.com, we receive whatever you send: your address, the message, and any attachments. We use that to answer support, feedback, privacy, or legal questions.

Mail is kept in the support mailbox for as long as we need it to finish the request and keep a record of what we told you. We do not use support mail for advertising. We do not sell it. If you ask us to delete a thread, we will, unless we must keep it for a legal or security reason (for example a dispute or abuse report).

5. Car Wallet

Available on the App Store

Car Wallet is a personal log for vehicles: fuel, service, expenses, documents, and related records. Guest use does not require an account. Cloud sync and some backups are optional.

Product privacy page: car-wallet-glow.vercel.app/privacy. App Store listing: Car Wallet.

On your device

Vehicle details, fuel and service logs, expenses, documents, and settings are stored on the device (including local storage and on-device photo databases for receipts and scans). You can export JSON or CSV backups from the app.

Permissions

  • Camera — to scan receipts, fuel slips, and vehicle documents.
  • Photo library — to import receipt and document images.
  • Location while using the app — to open a map of nearby gas stations, washes, parking, or service. Location is used on the device to launch Maps; AviLab does not run a location-tracking backend for Car Wallet.

The iOS app does not request tracking (App Tracking Transparency), contacts, or Health access.

If you sign in

You may sign in with Apple or Google. We then receive the name and email the provider gives us, plus a Firebase user ID. Signed-in textual data (vehicles, transactions, service, tires, and related records) syncs through Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore (Google Cloud). Receipt photos stay on the device unless you turn on Google Drive backup.

Google Drive backup (optional)

If you sign in with Google and enable backup, the app uses the Drive scope that only lets it manage files it created (not the rest of your Drive). Backups go into a Car Wallet folder in your own Google account. Apple-only sign-in does not include Drive backup. Deleting the Car Wallet account does not automatically delete those Drive folders — you can remove them in Google Drive.

AI Scan (optional)

If you use AI Scan, the image is sent over HTTPS to a Cloud Function that calls Google Gemini so text can be read from a receipt or document. Extracted fields come back to the device for you to check. This is an optional, credit-based feature. Do not scan documents you are not allowed to process.

Purchases

On iOS, purchases (including the 30-day trial, lifetime unlock, extra vehicle slots, and AI Scan credits) go through Apple. We do not receive your card number. Restore Purchases is in Profile → Settings.

What we do not do

Car Wallet is ad-free. The iOS app does not include Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or an advertising SDK. We do not sell vehicle logs, receipts, or financial entries.

Delete your data

  • Guest: Profile → Settings → clear all data.
  • Signed-in: Profile → Account → Delete Account (type DELETE). That removes the Firebase account, Firestore data, and local app data on that device.
  • Email avi.apps.labs@gmail.com and we will remove cloud records we control within 30 days.

6. Sea Battle

Available on the App Store

Sea Battle (Sea Battle: Local Wireless) is a two-player naval game. We do not operate a game server. We do not collect Sea Battle data on AviLab servers. There are no AviLab accounts, ads, analytics SDKs, or in-app purchases in the current app.

In-app policy (same practices): Settings → Privacy. Hosted copy: avi-ca.github.io/sea-battle-legal. App Store listing: Sea Battle: Local Wireless.

Play vs Computer

Offline. Nothing is sent over the network.

Nearby (Host / Join)

Uses Apple Multipeer Connectivity and Bonjour on the local network. Internet is not required. The app asks for Local Network access only for this. Devices may show a device name so you can pick the right host; after you connect, players see the admiral call sign you set in the app (up to 10 characters). Match traffic stays between the two devices: call signs, portrait and ensign IDs, win/loss counts, shots, and results. Ship layouts are not sent during play; they may be exchanged when a match ends so both fleets can be reviewed. Encryption on the nearby session is required by the app.

Play Online

Uses Apple Game Center to sign in, match two players, carry the match, and keep a standings table of online wins. Apple processes Game Center names, identifiers, and scores. We do not receive those on our servers. Inside a match, players see your admiral call sign. The Game Center matchmaker still shows your Game Center name.

On your device

Call sign, portrait, ensign, and win/loss counts are stored in on-device settings (UserDefaults). In-progress matches are not saved to disk.

The app does not request Bluetooth, camera, microphone, contacts, location, or tracking permission.

7. TANK '84

In development — not on the App Store yet

TANK '84 is a tank combat game. We do not operate a game server. We do not collect TANK '84 data on AviLab servers. There are no AviLab accounts, ads, analytics SDKs, or in-app purchases in the current build. Practices may change before a public release; we will update this page when they do.

In-app policy (same practices): About → Privacy Policy. Hosted copy: avi-ca.github.io/tank-84-legal/privacy.html.

Play versus the computer

Offline. Nothing is sent over the network.

Same device

Two sets of controls on one phone. Nothing is sent over the network.

Nearby (Host / Join)

Uses Apple Multipeer Connectivity and Bonjour (service type tank84) on the local network. Internet is not required. The app asks for Local Network access for this. Info.plist also declares Bluetooth because Multipeer may browse over BLE. Devices may show a device name so you can pick the other phone in the room. Match traffic stays between the two devices. We do not receive it on AviLab servers.

Game Center

In this development build Game Center is off. The two-player menu marks it as later. If a later build turns it on, Apple would process Game Center names, identifiers, and scores. We would not receive those on our servers. Nearby play does not need Game Center.

On your device

High scores (initials, score, stage, player count) and logbook settings are stored in on-device settings. Uninstalling the app removes that local table.

8. SUPKA

Available on the App Store

SUPKA is a paddling companion for iPhone. Apple Watch companion support is planned for an upcoming build. Practices below describe the current product.

Product pages: avi-ca.github.io/supka-legal/privacy.html. App Store listing: SUPKA.

On your device

Workouts, GPS tracks, photos you attach, and settings are stored locally (including a local database and photo files). You can delete workouts in the app.

Location

Precise GPS is used to record a session and draw the route, including in the background while a workout is running if you allow Always location. Tracks stay on the device by default. New cloud sync writes summary metrics (distance, duration, speeds, and similar), not the raw GPS track.

Apple Health

With your permission, SUPKA reads and writes workout-related HealthKit data (workouts, heart rate, active energy, distance, and related samples, including paddle-sports types where the system supports them) so sessions can appear in Health and Activity rings. You can revoke access in iOS Settings → Health. We do not sell Health data.

Apple Watch

When Apple Watch companion support is released in an upcoming build, the Watch app may use heart rate, a workout session, motion for paddle cadence, and heading for the compass display. Live metrics go to the paired iPhone over WatchConnectivity. The Watch app does not run independently of the iPhone.

Weather and water

Approximate location may be sent to Apple WeatherKit, or to Open-Meteo if WeatherKit is unavailable, and to public water-temperature sources via a Cloud Function (for example USGS or NOAA where those datasets exist). This is convenience information, not a marine forecast you should trust for safety-critical decisions.

Maps

On iPhone, maps use Apple MapKit. Some previews use OpenStreetMap tiles. Reverse geocoding may use OpenStreetMap Nominatim. If GPS is unavailable, an IP lookup (ipwho.is) may be used only as a fallback for a coarse location.

Photos

Camera and photo library access are used to take or attach session photos and to save share cards you ask for. Photos stay on the device in the current build. A later cloud photo option, if shipped, will be disclosed in the app and here.

Accounts, backups, and sync

The current build signs in to Firebase anonymously so backend features can run, without asking you to create a named account. You may also sign in with Apple or Google. Optional backups use your iCloud Documents quota or Google Drive app data — not an AviLab file host. Signed-in Pro cloud summaries use Firestore. In-app purchases are not enabled in the current development build; a local Pro trial may exist on device.

Liveguard and SOS

These features do not call 911 or emergency services. They do not stream live location to an AviLab server. If you save a contact (name and number you type yourself — the app does not read your address book) and you send SOS or a Liveguard share, the app opens Messages or the system share sheet with a Maps pin and a short status. Delivery is through the app you pick (for example Messages). Nothing is shared until you send it, or until a Liveguard option you turned on fires at session start or finish.

9. Apple and other processors

Depending on the product, these parties may process data because the feature you use needs them. They have their own policies.

  • Apple — App Store, Sign in with Apple, Game Center, HealthKit, WeatherKit, iCloud, MapKit, StoreKit. Apple Privacy Policy.
  • Google / Firebase — Car Wallet auth and sync; Car Wallet AI Scan; optional Google sign-in and Drive; SUPKA Firebase and optional Drive. Firebase privacy · Google Privacy Policy.
  • Google Gemini — Car Wallet AI Scan only. Gemini API terms.
  • GitHub — this website. GitHub Privacy Statement.
  • Vercel — Car Wallet’s product site and web app hosting. Vercel privacy.
  • Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap Nominatim, public water-data agencies — SUPKA weather, place names, and water temperature where those sources are used.

Gmail (Google) is used to receive support email.

10. Children

AviLab software is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 on our servers. Car Wallet is a utilities log, not a kids’ app. Sea Battle’s nearby and vs-computer modes do not use Game Center; Play Online uses a Game Center account managed by Apple. The App Store listing is 9+ because of pirate-fleet imagery, not because we collect children’s data. TANK '84 is in development: versus-computer and same-device modes do not use Game Center; nearby play is local; Game Center is off in this build. No public age rating is published yet.

If you believe we have information from a child under 13, email us and we will delete what we control.

Where you live, a minor may need a parent or guardian’s permission to use the apps (Car Wallet’s product terms treat this as generally under 16). That is a use rule, not a claim that we run a children’s program.

11. Your choices and rights

You can:

  • stop using this website;
  • delete an app from your device (local data goes with it, except backups you made in iCloud, Drive, or Files);
  • turn off permissions in iOS Settings;
  • sign out of Game Center, Apple ID, or Google;
  • export or delete Car Wallet data in the app;
  • delete SUPKA workouts in the app and revoke Health access;
  • ask us what we hold from an email you sent, and ask us to correct or delete it.

We handle personal information in line with Canadian privacy law that applies to this studio (including PIPEDA where it applies). If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you can still ask us for access, correction, export, or erasure of personal data we hold. We will respond. Some data lives only on your device or in Apple/Google accounts we cannot reach — we will tell you if that is the case.

To exercise a right, email avi.apps.labs@gmail.com. We may need to confirm it is you.

12. Retention

  • Device data — until you delete it, clear the app, or delete the app, unless the OS keeps a backup you made.
  • Car Wallet cloud — until you delete the account or we close the product after notice.
  • Support email — as long as needed for the request and a reasonable record.
  • Sea Battle — we do not retain match data on our servers.
  • TANK '84 — we do not retain match data on our servers.
  • SUPKA cloud summaries — while the account exists, if that feature is on; local tracks until you delete them.

13. International transfers

We are in Canada. Firebase, Google APIs, GitHub, and Vercel may process data in the United States and other countries. If you turn on Car Wallet or SUPKA cloud features, your synced data may be stored there. Apple processes App Store, Game Center, Health, iCloud, and Weather data under Apple’s rules, which may also involve transfers.

14. Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new text at this URL with a new “last updated” date. For a material change to a shipped app, we will also update that app’s privacy text or App Store labels where Apple requires it.
